“Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfilment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help in well-being.” Yoga is an ancient Indian practice that helps in maintaining physical and mental well-being, and over the years, it has found popularity in other countries as well. In 2014, Indian Prime Minister proposed marking a day as the International Day of Yoga in his address at the UN General Assembly, and the proposal was endorsed by 175 member states, post which the United Nations recognised June 21 as the day to celebrate Yoga

Yoga is the journey of the self through the self to the self. One cannot control what goes on outside, but can always control what goes on inside. It is the science of healthy & better living. It helps to control the moods of the mind and helps to maintain total health and wellness physically, morally, emotionally and spiritually.

Yoga includes physical poses called asana, breathing techniques and meditation. It has been suggested that practising yoga sessions two or three times per week for at least 20 minutes per session can lead to some considerable positive effects.

To keep the young minds at peace and to facilitate the recognition and realization of the self the college maintains the Yoga Club. The club conducts yoga classes and practice for students and teachers for their spiritual rejuvenation and inspired living. The club organises the International Day of Yoga celebrations on 21 June annually in flying colours.

Through the practice of yoga, one can become aware of one’s emotional, mental, and physical health. Yoga includes physical poses called asana, breathing techniques and meditation. It has been suggested that practising yoga sessions two or three times per week for at least 20 minutes per session can lead to some considerable positive effects.
