English Literary Club

The English literary club was formed in 2016 and it was renamed as ENGLORA in 2018. It is a gathering of the students and teachers to organize value added literary and cultural activities like debates , invited lectures, and group discussions to inculcate a deep seated and permanent interest in the subject of study.

  • 1. ONE DAY WORKSHOP

    • As part of academic innovation a One-day Workshop on Creative writing in English was conducted. The programme was facilitated by Mr. M Noushad -Assistant Professor, MBL Media School, Calicut on 8th December 2016.


  • 2. ASSOCIATION INAUGURATION

    • BA. English Association ENGLORA was inaugurated on 12th December 2018 by Dr.ArunLal- HOD of Mokeri Government College. The key note address of the function was on An Introduction to Literary Theory.


  • 3. DEBATE

    • An open debate  on the topic Menstruation And Human Rights organised on 18th January 2019.The event was moderated by Dr.Madhusoodanan (HOD of the Physical Education department of the College).


  • 4. The Department Magazine for the year 2018-2019 ‘ZEITGEIST’ was released on June 12   by the Principal of the college Dr. Muhammad Kutty.

  • 5. BASHEER DAY

    • Englora conducted ‘Basheer Day’ to commemorate the death anniversary of Muhammad Basheer onJuly 05. Characters from Basheer’s works such as Pathumma and Suhra were presented through lively enactments.  Dr. Husain(HOD Malayalam Department) presented the key note address.  Seven papers were presented by the department students.


  • 6. Open Debate

    • An open debate was held on 16 December  to dicuss the issue HYDERABAD ENCOUNTER: JUSTDESSERTS OR UNJUST  PUNISHMENT?. Dr. Madhusoodanan (Department of Physical Education) was the mediator.
